The Ab Rocket Abdominal Trainer was designed for people who want to build a strong, better-looking waist. It has come as a wonderful innovation in the ab training technology.
The name of the equipment is quite self-explanatory. It will work on your abs.
Those of us who have been working to lose weight know all too well that getting flat abs is the most difficult part of all. Equipment like the Ab Rocket Abdominal Trainer is designed to target that trouble area.
Offering a revolutionary way to thoroughly work out your abs, strengthen and at the same time massage your core muscles, the Ab Rocket Abdominal Trainer promises it will give you the midsection you have always wanted.
How Does The Ab Rocket Abdominal Trainer Work?
The Ab Rocket Abdominal Trainer will give you a healthy workout to tone your abdominal muscles (lower, upper and middle), to strengthen you core, and to lose inches on your waistline and hip areas.
Abdominal training is an important part of a whole-body workout. If you don’t exercise your abs the right way, you can stress or even injure the muscles of your neck and back, hampering your fitness progress altogether.
It is Offers Safety and Convenience
The Ab Rocket comes built with 5 spherical cushions to rest your neck and align your back so that you can focus your efforts on your abs.
You can use 3 resistance levels. The Ab Rocket monitors the crunches you do. It is also designed for sit-ups.
3 Resistance Levels
You can change the resistance by means of 3 resistance coils.
Resistance coil 1 is going to give you the least resistance making the workout the most challenging.
Resistance coil 2 is great for intermediate workouts.
Resistance coil 3 is the best one to start with because it will give you the most support, making it easier to workout your abs.
What Others Are Saying – Does The Ab Rocket Abdominal Trainer Work?
M. Myers and her husband from Florida who wanted to tone up their waist muscles, find the Ab Rocket to be an enjoyable way to do sits-ups. M. Mayers says:
“It helps target the abdominal muscles without straining the neck or the back. I would recommend this product to anyone.”
One reviewer whose chronic lower back pain has made it impossible for him to do sit ups, says:
“Now that I have AB ROCKET, I am doing 100 [sit-ups] a day and feeling the results in one week. I am very happy with it and highly recommend to anyone looking for a basic abdominal workout.”
Saundra and her husband work their abs with Ab Rocker 5 times a week, for just a few minutes each time. Saundra says:
“It has really made a difference in both our abdomens and even
our stomach. We are looking better in our clothes and our family
and friends have noticed how much better we look.”
For many people, though, the experience has not been as positive. Some even go to call the rocking motion nothing more than what you could get out of a simple rocking chair. They do not find the resistance levels all too powerful.
How Much Weight Will I Lose?
J. Lopez, 65, who gained 30 pounds after having major surgery found the Ab Rocker extremely helpful. She explains:
“I have only been using it for a month but already have toned up my stomach muscles. […]I want to get back into good physical shape and feel the Ab Rocket will help me achieve this goal.”
While there have been reviewers who have enjoyed the trainer for enabling them to do better crunches, there have been not many (believable) reports on weight loss. One reviewer claims to have lost close to a 40 lbs in a month owing to use of this abs trainer. Somehow, that is pretty hard to digest. Even the makers aren’t claiming those kinds of results.
Pros and Cons
- You can work out your abs in less than 5 minutes
- Apparatus weighs only 10 pounds.
- Folds and fits under your bed.
- Gently massages your back as you workout
- Comes accompanied with a video CD, showing you how to use it.
- The manufacturers have used plastic parts in its assembly, so the apparatus should be used with care. A reviewer described it as “cheap and flimsy”
- The springs that accommodate the tension settings aren’t strong enough. Some have to wrestle with the tension settings (resistance coils).
- The curvature of the rollers is not flexible so it will not fit all body types.
- It is not big enough to accommodate people that are taller than 5’ 10’’. Patrick, says:
“… as a 6’2" 235 lb male; this device by no means is made for someone of my size. The back rest doesn’t come any where near supporting my neck as its shown in the commercials.”
Problems and Complaints
The major complain I noticed from the Ab Rocket’s users has to do with the resistance. The tension springs are not strong enough to prevent you from falling all the way down. That means that you have to use your abs more and rely less on the support from the springs. Whether this is good or bad has to do with your fitness level, how much you are out of shape. For sure, it is more comfortable than doing stomach crunches all by yourself.
Is the Ab Rocker Worth $100?
Well, certainly, the value of the material the Ab Rocker is made of is not that high. But, its effectiveness in working out your entire abdominal area is worth its money. As one reviewer said:
“Can you get anything else this effective for even near the same amount of money? Not that I’ve seen. So, if you want an effective way to create abdominal strength then I say this is worth the money they ask for it.”
