Billy Blanks’ Tae-Bo Cardio Workout DVD Review
Work out your entire body and use muscles you never knew you had with Tae-Bo, a fun and exciting way to drop the pounds.
Tae Bo can do great things for your body. Living proof is Billy Blanks’ very own daughter, Shelley, who accompanies her father in this Tae Bo DVD.
With over 40 minutes of challenging cardio, your body will be feeling it. Remember, no pain, no gain! Personal trainer extraordinaire does it again with this addition to his popular DVD collection. He will help you get your body into shape all while enjoying a fun and interesting new workout.
How Does Billy Blanks’ Tae-Bo Cardio Work?
With greater focus on the warm-up and cool-down this DVD will help you burn calories all while working out your entire body.
This cardio workout is great for beginners who are looking to become exercise enthusiasts. Don’t expect it however to be as intense as the more advanced Tae Bo Series. This workout is not geared towards the advanced exerciser.
Those new to exercise will find the workout challenging. Intermediate users will find it to be a great “steady” workout that will not leave you winded but definitely feeling the burn.
Due to the great warm-up and cool down techniques, the workout will not throw you into a routine too quickly and leave you wondering whether or not to go back for round two. This is a great balance of cardio and Tae-Bo.
What Others Are Saying - Does Billy Blanks’ Tae-Bo Cardio Work?
Over sixty reviewers (link to Amazon) cannot be wrong! This is one awesome cardio workout.
The majority of those who are using Billy Blanks’ Cardio DVD, could not be more pleased with it. Marcia BuzHardt, a mother of three, says:
“This video helped get me back in shape after the last two children. It is fast paced, but not as difficult as the advanced Tae Bo. I love it.”
Coco, a working mother of 2 and former dancer who has not worked out for a while, states:
“I believe it's great for those starting back up the fitness train. It's mild and effective for beginners. I can't wait to move up the ladder. Buy it, try it, enjoy it!”
Another user explains:
“For a beginner this is an excellent workout because you don't just stretch and go straight into higher impact... he gradually takes you there so your body is warmed up really well. This kicked my butt and I breathed hard and sweat like crazy.”
For L. Hayner, a pilates teacher, this was her first Tae Bo DVD. She shares:
“I thought it was great because it did get my heart rate up, although not like a challenging cycle class, but I knew I was burning calories. I also discovered a couple of muscles that must not be getting a good workout from the other activities.”
After I read most user’s comments, I noticed a consensus. It seems that the majority of the users enjoyed it while only a few had less favorable things to say about it.
One reviewer rated the DVD very poorly because it is a workout targeted more toward beginners. Well, in my opinion, if you are just starting out or perhaps very overweight, this workout may be something you might want to look into to become more active.
Does It Help You Lose Weight?
According to A. Thompson from Tennessee, and many others, absolutely! He says:
“This is no exaggeration--each time I do the workout, I weigh a 1/2 lb. less the next morning!”
Sappho experienced great results and recommends Billy Blanks’ Tae-Bo Cardio to all those who want to get into shape performing a non-stop workout. She says:
“I've been using this workout for 2 weeks 1/2 and along with a well-balanced diet have already lost 5 pounds. I would recommend Tae-Bo Cardio. Go to stores today and buy it.”
One user said that they can attribute their weight loss success to this DVD workout; losing 20 lbs in only a month and a half.
Other reviewers did not mention any specific amount of weight loss but they do enjoy the workout and perform it consistently. Like with any exercise program, if you follow it and lead a healthy lifestyle you will see results.
Pros and Cons
- It is very motivational because you see real people working out with Billy Blanks, sweating and having a hard time at times.
- Great for those transitioning from the beginner to intermediate level of working out.
- Billy Blanks is a popular and experienced personal trainer. You cannot go wrong with him.
- Great price through Amazon.
- Great for getting an effective workout in a little amount of time.
- Includes warm-up and cool-down routines.
- Great for beginners and intermediate users.
- Will make you sweat! Helped some lose weight.
- Fun and energetic
Some users felt that:
- May not be great for the experienced user or fitness buff. C. Lawton, an advanced Tae Bo exerciser, advises:
“This DVD is best for people who have been doing some other form of exercise but are just beginning Tae Bo, and for those looking for an intermediate level Tae Bo workout.”
- Routines are too slow.
- The motions are boring and the music is monotonous and repetitive.
- Not nearly challenging enough for those who are used to advanced workouts
- Too basic.
- Need resistance bands to get a better workout.
Problems and Complaints
One major complaint from users was the fact that it was more for beginners and not for those who workout daily. The routine was very boring for some and one even went so far as to say,
“I am glad I rented this from the library and didn't pay for it. After 10 minutes I kept checking the time to see when the boredom would be over with.”
While no one complained about the price, I got the feeling that some of the users would have gladly paid more for a more advanced Tae Bo DVD.
While some of the reviews were not favorable, if you are a beginner or even an intermediate user then Billy Blanks’ Tae Bo Cardio DVD is hands-down a great workout for you.
If you have been stagnant for too long, then I suggest starting a workout that is great for beginners. This workout DVD could be just what you have been looking for.
