Home fitness DVDs are a wonderful thing. They let the user take fitness and weight loss into their own house, on their own time, and in their own comfort. There is something to be said about the convenience of being able to work out at 6 in the morning or 10 in the evening when the schedule permits. And there are tons of these fitness DVDs to choose from.
A lot DVDs are produced by household name fitness coaches like Jillian Micheals too. But what about something different. Something like Latin Rhythms?

"Crunch" brings Latin Rhythms, instructed by Jennifer Galardi, to your home. The full on cardio workout is designed to get your hips moving, your joints lubricated, and your calories burning. A combination of several Latin dances like the Mambo, Cha Cha, Merengue, and Samba are formed into a heavy cardio burning machine.
A nice atmosphere with an easy enough routine to follow is important. With that in mind, Jennifer designed this workout to be easy to pick up, so you are not fumbling and trying to learn different routines, defeating the purpose of a cardio workout. This routine is easy enough for you to learn and start doing while still providing a challenge. The program is about 40-minutes long, with a warm up, a cool down, and three other sessions in between.
What Are Others Saying?
Jennifer Galardi is a fun and up beat instructor. She has a bit of a following that purchased this DVD simply because of her coaching it. She is known for a pretty quality workout. An individual called Chance said that the workout does work up a sweat, but it is not as Latin-inspired as other routines.
Jennifer does mix a bit of old fashioned cardio with the different dance moves. Female reviewer Elizabeth completely forgot she was working out. She cannot follow through with any routine unless it is fun, because she ultimately stops doing them. She does not have this problem with Latin Rhythms.
I have found a few people that said the workout is not as intense as other DVDs. It is great fun and very entertaining. It does make you sweat and get your heart rate going. But it is just not as intense. Also, a customer named Joana pointed out that there are too many background actors. They get distracting. Especially when the camera bounces from one to the other. And other comments were left regarding the instructions, or lack there of. There is a bit of a learning curve to this routine.
How Much Weight Will I Lose?
"Crunch: Latin Rhythms DVD" is a quality cardio exercise. It is not as intense as other home-fitness routines. But it does produce results. With this routine alone, a person will see slow and steady weight loss and even better weight management. To maximize results, I do recommend following a low-calorie diet and combining some strength or resistance training with this DVD for maximum weight loss.
Latin dance and heavy cardio movements can swing the hips, the butt and other joints around a lot. Although Latin Rhythms is a low impact exercise, I advise caution to those with either joint problems or arthritis of any kind. Performing this exercise could further irritate any current injuries. Seek counsel from a doctor before beginning any new routine.

Problems And Complaints
You cannot enjoy the sweet without tasting the bitter. Like anything else, this does have a bit of bitter. Jen’s instructions are a little lackluster in this video. It appears that she jumps straight into the beat with the routine, explaining the routine as she goes. This is great once a person is used to the steps.
But what about the beginners? I can understand not having any sort of tutorial in the full workout. But what about an introductory segment? There should be a quick 20-minute video that slowly demonstrates and explains each step, one at a time.
How Does It Rate Overall?
Latin Rhythms is a quality DVD with a good instructor. It produces results with little problem. The program is a little lacking though, compared to other DVDs. The pace is a little slower and over all the course is a bit easier. More advanced users may still enjoy this DVD as a light workout session or to change up the pace, but for maximum results I would suggest looking at a different program.
For beginners, this DVD will provide plenty of challenge for some time that produces results. If you are not familiar with Latin dances, or if you are new to cardio training you will get great enjoyment from this DVD.
