Elastic Exercise Bands: A Quick, Cheap Way to Lose Weight

April 14, 2009 by admin 1 Comment

You’ve probably heard that resistance training is one way to lose weight, and cardio training is another. What would you say if I told you that you could combine the two without having to spend more than fifty dollars?

Elastic exercise bands are a cheap, yet effective way of losing weight. While top-of-the-line resistance bands can cost you fifty dollars, you can purchase them new for as low as twenty dollars.

Resistance bands have a few other nifty bonuses attached to them. For one, resistance bands save space. Unlike gym equipment, resistance bands can be folded away and stored almost anywhere. They’re easy to use and they’re great for beginners.

Also, because they’re so small and light, you can take resistance bands with you when you travel, which means you never have to miss out on a workout, even if you’re away from home. For some people, that’s a huge bonus.

Not only can resistance bands help you build strength and endurance, but they can also help you build up your coordination. If you were to use free weights, you don’t get the same effect as you would by using resistance bands. Resistance bands make you stabilize yourself when you’re doing an exercise, which helps increase your balance and coordination.

Bands are also great for adding variety to your workout. For most people, a workout routine can get boring after a while. With exercise bands, you can do hundreds of different exercises, and you can change them on a daily basis. This helps keep your motivation levels high, which leads to lost fat and better conditioning.

But How Do I know What Exercises To Do?

There are literally hundreds of different exercises that can be performed with a good set of exercise bands, which can seem intimidating at first. However, there are a lot of resources out there to help you get started.

For example, if you were to type ‘exercise band workouts’ into Google, you’d be greeted by hundreds of websites that explain different exercises. You can also try YouTube. The benefit of YouTube is that you can actually see and follow along with an online instructor, ensuring that you’ll be able to perform each exercise properly.

Exercise bands are one of the most versatile, inexpensive tools on the market today. They can definitely help you lose weight, build lean muscle mass and increase your endurance and coordination.
