"I 'm Gonna Give Thumbs Up to Sheikh Shoes"
Sheryl is reviewing 6 pairs of shoes she purchased online from SheikhShoes.com
My Shiekh Shoes Review
“Our prices are the best online” is what the company claims. Shiekh Shoes was founded in 1991 by Mr. Shiekh Ellahi and is headquartered in Ontario, California. The firm currently has 118 brick and mortar stores located in California, Arizona, Texas, Nevada, and Washington in addition to its online presence.
Given its name, I was surprised to find that it carries not only men’s, women’s and children’s footwear, but also a limited assortment of men’s and women’s apparel and accessory items. In addition to carrying brand names such as Nike, Jordon, Reebok, K-Swiss and Converse, it has its own house brand that is available only in its stores and on its website.
If you happen to be a fashion-savvy young person, you’re likely to find a “must have” at a reasonable price at Shiekh Shoes. The selection of merchandise you will find on its website is huge and includes:
- Men’s, Women’s, and Kids’ Footwear
- Men’s and Women’s Apparel
- Shoulder Bags, Duffle Bags and Backpacks
- Socks and Hosiery
- Insoles
- Hats (including hats with NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL and college logos)
Is Shiekh Shoes Worth It? – Key Features and Benefits
I would buy shoes from Shiekh Shoes for the following reasons:
-
The Shiekh Shoes website provides both a measurement guide and a size conversion chart. The measurement guide provides you with information about just how long the shank of a shoe is, for instance, and the sizing chart helps you determine the right size for you.
-
The website features an “As Seen In” tab that allows you to search for shoes that you may have seen in one of several popular magazines or in one of the wikifashionista episodes. You can go right to the product you’re interested in without wasting valuable time.
- Should you need to return or exchange an item, you can do so either by mail or by visiting one of Shiekh Shoes’ brick and mortar stores. The latter option, which is not offered by most other online shoe retailers with physical locations, allows you to try on different shoes if you need to make an exchange or provides you with an immediate refund if you just want your money back.
A favorite feature of mine is that the website provides customer product ratings on the same page as the product description. This allows me to discover any negatives regarding the product that others may have discovered, one of which might be a deal-buster for me. Thus, I am saved both time and money.
Another feature I like is that you can select shoes by color.
Shiekh Shoes Cons – Disadvantages
-
The website provides only a regular and an enlarged view of its items. There are no views of the back, side, or, in the case of footwear, soles.
-
There is a limited drop-down menu, which makes searching the site more difficult. For example, the drop-down menu for women’s apparel allows you to select only “tops,” “bottoms”, “dresses,” or costumes.”
- Only one or very few brands are offered for some categories. For example, only the K-Swiss brand is represented in the women’s dresses category.

How Does Shiekh Shoes Compare To Similar Merchants?
I looked at a couple of other websites that are in direct competition with ShiekhShoes.com. The first was DNA Footwear.
Shiekh Shoes versus DNA Footwear
Like Shiekh Shoes, DNA Footwear has brick and mortar stores in addition to its online presence. Shiekh Shoes carries more categories of items, such as apparel, than does DNA Footwear, but the website does not seem to have as extensive a selection of footwear as DNA Footwear does. DNA Footwear also provides multiple views of its products, whereas Shiekh Shoes provides only a regular and an enlarged front-facing view.
Like DNA Footwear, Shiekh Shoes provides a size conversion chart on its website and free shipping on orders of $50 or more. Shiekh Shoes has a much more liberal return policy than DNA Footwear, however. There is no need to obtain a return authorization number, and returns are accepted within a 60-day time frame, as compared to DNA Footwear’s 15-day return period. Returns can be made by visiting one of Shiekh Shoes’ physical locations, which is not an option provided by DNA Footwear.
Shiekh Shoes versus Heels.com
The second website I researched for comparison purposes was Heels.com. Unlike Shiekh Shoes, this online retailer deals exclusively in women’s shoes. It does not carry men’s or kids’ footwear or any other categories of products like Shiekh Shoes does. As such, the site is designed to make it easy for the user to find a shoe to fit in any number of styles, brands, sizes, and colors. The website provides a more inclusive shoe fitting guide than the one provided on the Shiekh Shoes website, too. Not only does the guide provide for conversions between the US and UK sizes, but it also includes conversions for EU, Australian, Japanese, and Mexican shoe sizes as well as the foot length measurement that corresponds to these sizes in both inches and centimeters.
The return policy of heels.com is more liberal than either that of Shiekh Shoes or DNA Footwear. It has a 90-day return period, with no cost to the customer. Pre-paid FedEx or USPS shipping labels are provided.
What Is the Cost?
The cost of the products varies greatly by category and brand. To give you an idea, some sample prices are:
- Women’s K-Swiss Accomplish long-sleeved top = $40.00
- Women’s Shiekh Parry shoe = $28.97 (reduced from $39.97)
- Men’s Dr. Marten’s lace-up shoe = $89.97
- Emu Youth Boot = $34.00 (reduced from $44.97)
- Men’s Sean John four-pocket wool bomber jacket = $148.97
- Nike Jumpman 23 Legacy backpack = $32.00 (reduced from $44.97)
Sheikh Shoes offers free shipping within the continental U.S. on orders of $50 or more. International shipping costs vary. Residents of certain states may be subject to sales tax. Payment is accepted via Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express, Diners Club, JCB, Paypal, or e-checks.
Returns are accepted within a 60-day period. The merchandise must be in the original box, or you will be subject to a $3 restocking fee. Apparel must be returned with all the tags attached. You can choose to return your item via mail, or you can return it to one of the physical Shiekh Shoes store locations.
Every purchase made from Shiekhshoes has 100% price guarantee. The store promises money refund to its customers, if they find the same item for lower price in any other store.
What Are Others Saying? Testimonials – Feedback – Comments
The customer reviews of Shiekh Shoes are mostly positive. The comments I found were focused on the footwear products offered by the website and praised the company’s reasonable (one person used the word “amazing”) prices and good selection. The few negative reviews I read regarded longer-than-expected shipping times and abysmal customer service, which, sadly, seems to be a common complaint about most online retailers.
