Scientific Studies
A study conducted by nine scientists, including Dr. Agatston, in 2004 concluded that a modified low carbohydrate diet such as South Beach, yielded significantly more weight loss over a 12 week period when compared to the higher carb diet recommended by the National Cholesterol Education Program – the NCEP diet.
Also, an independent study by Kraft foods involving 54 to 69 participants, respectively, over a period of three months, showed favorable results for the groups on the South Beach diet.
How It Works – An Overview
