Many doctors are promoting lap-banding as a means of losing weight, but for many overweight people surgery is too drastic and too expensive. While there are positive aspects of having a lap-banding procedure, people need to be aware that it will have a significant impact on their life with regards to their eating habits. Of course, a restrictive surgery makes the process of losing weight simple because a person can no longer consume too much food, but it also means they can no longer enjoy good-sized meals.
The Weight Loss and Training Program
Justine Guest is a personal trainer who has recently launched an alternative to lap-band weight loss and personal training program called Babes on the Run. She explains: “I have a client that hasn’t been able to eat a proper meal in months after lap banding surgery. Lap-band is just not a quick fix. It can impact your quality of life". Justine wants to give women access to a professional personal training program that is affordable, social and also outdoors.
With such a personal program, the trainers work individually with each client, staying in constant contact and offering ongoing support. This increases motivation and makes sticking to the program easier for participants. Programs are individually designed to suit the needs of participants, enabling them to fit the program in with their lifestyles. One of the truly different aspects of the program is that it doesn’t just focus on eating and exercise. It helps people in all aspects of their lifestyle, empowering them to change their lives for good.
How Does the Program Differ from Others?
Justine explains that she was concerned by the lack of support her clients who had undergone lap band surgery experienced. Many of them had experienced complications, which hadn’t been made clear from the outset. She designed the Babes Weight Loss Program to address many of the issues her clients had with lap band surgery. She also designed the program to cut through the confusion that so many overweight people experience when trying to find a program that will help them lose weight permanently.
Included in the program is weekly wellness coaching, Babe Squad boot camp training and one on one Babes Personal Training. The program also offers a six week Revitalise weight loss and nutrition package which was created by nutritionist Jo Beer, which helps clients learn to cook healthy meals and overcome concerns they may have about food.
The other great thing for clients is that they get to meet and interact with other women on the program, so they experience the benefits of peer support and don’t feel like they are alone. Justine makes it clear to her clients that even though they may have tried many different programs without success, the reason for their failure has been the programs and not their own willpower or motivation. Many programs are designed to hook people into purchasing, but don’t offer long term results.
Where is the Program Offered?
At the moment Babes Weight Loss programs run in several suburbs around the metropolitan Perth area, including Hillarys, City Beach, Mindarie, South Perth, Lake Monger, Fremantle, Inglewood, Shelley, Rockingham, Coogee, Mosman Park, Point Walter and Kings Park.
